Abstract

Small investors affected by lower interest rates find investment trusts' savings schemes a useful way of investing in the stock market, but schemes tend to be little known since they pay little in commission and are little advertised. Nearly 54 million pounds sterling entered such schemes in 2nd qtr 1993, a record, according to the Association of Investment Companies. The schemes are cheap, with low dealing commissions, and investors have a wide range of schemes to choose from, with different levels of risk, and some companies such as KBIM spell out risk levels to investors of their various trusts.
