Abstract

The synthesis, structures and reactivity of tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) cobalt halovinyl complexes are described. The mechanism of halide substitution for the beta-halovinyl complexes is examined with kinetic experiments that showed a dissociative mechanism and supported the intermediacy of a cobalt acetylene complex.
