Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted to gain basic information on the fecal microbiota composition of different European study populations. Age-related differences in the microbiota makeup were detected but differed between the study populations from the four countries, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden, each showing a characteristic colonization pattern.
