Effect of double bonds on the conducting properties of ciguatoxin 3C and tetrahydropyrane-based polymers: A theoretical study

Abstract: The Kohn-Shan model is used to study the effect of double bonds on the Gaussian and plane wave functions of ciguatoxin 3C and other tetrahydropyrane-based polymers. The result suggests that the double bonds reduces the energy gap considerably and hence can be linked with biological systems to be used as precursor to build electric conducting systems.
