Abstract: Hypothesis was tested that aging decreases the contribution of metaboreceptors to sympathetic responses during exercise in hypoxia. Aging reduces sympathetic reactivity to isometric handgrip, but does not prevent the metaboreceptors to remain the main determinant of sympathetic activation during exercise in hypoxia.
