Abstract

Mixtures of N-methylbenzothiazole-2(3H)-selone containing molecular diiodine in CH2Cl produce solids of stoichiometry (C8H7I4NS2) and (C8H7I2NSSe) and show feeble reactions between the I7- anions and the cations found in the chain. The triclicnic crystals of (C8H7I2NSSe) show N-benzothiazole-2(3H)-selone iodide cations and triiodide anions in various crystallographic centers. Electric conductivity is low for both compounds.
