Abstract
- The study of the electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of the pi-conjugated ligand tetra-2-pyridyl-1, 4-pyrazine (tppz) as well the mixed ligand complexes with terpyridine end caps provides a better characterization of the series of multimetallic oligomers of ruthenium (Ru). The results show that these compounds can be excellent wire materials, as they yield low HOMO-LUMO gaps, high delocalization, and the onset of quasi-bond features.
