Abstract

The first measurements of internal energy distributions of the OH produced by a direct mechanism of interfacial reaction between O((super 3)P) atoms and liquid squalane, C(sub 30)H(sub 62), by time-of-flight profile are reported. It was concluded that at least two mechanisms contribute to the production of OH and closer correspondence of translational and rotational energy distributions of higher velocity OH to those from the corresponding gas-phase of O((super 3)P) with smaller OH suggests a very similar, near collinear direct abstraction.
