Abstract

The biological activities of a selected sample of 24 species eaten by wild chimpanzees in the Kibale National Park, western Uganda to assess their potential chemotherapeutic values were measured. It showed that the chimpanzee diet includes compounds that likely offer medicinal benefits, such as reducing the level of pathogens and keeping chimpanzee health problems to a sub clinical level.
