Abstract
- Singapore Shipbuilding and Engineering (SSE) delivered two 400 TEU roro-lolo cargo ships to Tropical Shipping and Construction Co. SSE outbid Japanese, American and European firms for the contract. The major design specification tasked to SSE was cargo handling flexibility, which was resolved via open flush cargo decks and roro-lolo mode configurations. Designers also adopted damage stability requirements mandated by the International Maritime Organization.
