Brachytherapy for in-stent restenosis: A distant second choice to drug-eluting stent placement

In-stent restenotic lesions are an important clinical problem and of the numerous modalities used to treat them till date, vascular brachytherapy has been the most effective. Some concerns however about brachytherapy including safety of radiation therapy have led to trials of other therapies and of these drug-eluting stents appear to be the most acceptable.
