Abstract

Subsurface coastal water samples from specific sites along the Cote d'Azur coastline in France were tested for the herbicidal additive 2-methylthio-4-tert-butylamino-6-cyclopropylamino-5-triazine (IRGAROL 1051). The objective was to determine the extent of the areas contaminated by the compound. Most samples contained traces of IRGAROL 1051, with the highest levels found in yacht marinas holding pleasure craft. On the other hand, ports showed lower levels of the contaminant.
