Abstract
- Ion exchange and immunoaffinity chromatography is used in the purification of an amiloride-inhibitable Na+ channel protein from the bovine renal papillae. Planar lipid bilayers were reconstructed from these purified Na+ channels to study the characteristics of single channels. The planar lipid channels have both large-and small-conductance Na+ selective ion-channels, which are blocked in a dose-dependent manner after the amiloride is applied.
