Abstract

A study of right ventricular hypertrophy (RVH) analyzed the coronary vascular adaptations involved. Pulmonary artery stenosis for 5 weeks stimulated RVH in the six pigs examined, of which three were used as controls silicone elastomer carts of the right coronary arteries (RCA) were designed at autopsy, and morphometric data was obtained. New flow channels were formed. In RVH a major remodeling of the coronary arterial vasculature occurred, and the morphometric remodeling must be given consideration in any forth coming study of coronary hemodynamics of the right ventricle in hypertrophy.
