Abstract
- The expression of genes required for oxygen metabolic systems is investigated using two species, Clostridium aminovalericum and C. acetobutylicum. The expression studies of the C. aminovalericum noxA (H2O-forming NADH oxidase) gene have revealed that the enzyme is involved in oxygen metabolism and in C. acetobutylicum many genes were identified as oxygen stress responsive for the first time in the genus Clostridium.
