Abstract

Analysts predict that menswear will perform the same as the first half of 1993, or better, with a 4.8% rise in sales recorded during this period. Although the first half was adversely affected by bad weather and an anxiety about the new Bill Clinton administration, the second half could improve since these conditions have passed. Growth has been attributed to replacement buying, new fashions and a trend toward casual clothes could result in even more sales.
