Where do picture editors come from?

The industry has a greater appetite right for placing entry-level picture editors than photographers and it is not being fully responded to or represented by the universities. The only one university curriculum devoted to picture editing in the United States is at Ohio University but there is a lack of interest in structured curriculum for picture editing because many people are not willing to become a picture editor.
