Abstract: The pottery fragments coming from the town of Caltagirone, Italy are characterized by using a nondestructive time-of-flight (TOF) neutron diffraction. The measurements and the Rietveld analysis helped in obtaining a detailed identification and quantitative determination of the mineral phases present in the samples.
