Abstract
- Past research were examined to determine the effectiveness of protein restriction on chronic renal disease. Some studies claim that the commonly used medical regimen does not delay progression of chronic renal failure. However, analysis of results using standards such as factor of delay revealed the limitations of these researches. Existing data support the fact that protein limitation actually retard the rate of renal disease progression. Low protein diet (LPD) diminish the risk factors of chronic renal disease incidence. As a result, individuals are encouraged to adhere to LPD in the early stages of the disease.
