Stereochemical influence of the ligand on the structure on the structure of manganese complexes: Implications for catalytic epoxidations

The synthesis and coordination behavior of the manganese complexes of the legand HphoxCOOR (R = H or Me) are studied. It is concluded that the manganese complexes of the racemic and enantiopure ligands HphoxCOOMe and HphoxCOOH exhibits structural preferences because of the chirality on the ligands in solid and in solution and the results support the hypothesis of basicity is the sufficient property for catalytic activity.
