Abstract

Patients who are sensitive to tape having allergic reactions such as irritant contact dermatitits and allergic dermatitits, using a skin preparation barrier film will not only reduce the chances of contact dermatitits but also lessen stripping of the epidermis surrounding the wound, or a hypoallergenic tape such as a cloth tape can be used. When a patient is allergic to any kind of tape, gauze padding with fluff gauze rolls and tubular band netting can be used on the extremities.
