Abstract

The variations in the magnetic characteristics of carbon and chrome-molybdenum steel were investigated using magnescope magnetic measurements. The carbon steel samples were subjected to spheroidization, quenching, quench and tempering and uniaxial tension up to 40 ksi. The magnetic characteristics were studied as a function of stress at each angle of stress-field orientation.
