Abstract

The multiquantum well infrared photodetector's performance is studied theoretically. The current response is calculated first and dark current is determined as a function of bias voltage and temperature within the sequential tunneling approach. The noise characteristics of such detectors are also discussed in detail with the consideration of the background radiation.
