A monomeric thallium(I) amide in the solid state: Synthesis and structure of TIN(Me) Ar(super Mes2) (Ar(super Mes2)=C6H3-2-6-Mes2)

Abstract: Reaction of TICI and [LiN(Me)Ar(super Mes2)]2 [Ar(super Mes2)= C6H3-2,6-(C6H2-2,4,6-Me3)2] in Et2O generated the thallium amide, TIN(Me)Ar(super Mes2). The electronic spectrum of [LiN(Me)Ar(super Mes2)]2 is hypsochromically shifted in comparison to the monomeric TlAr(super Trip 2) (Trip=C6H2-2,4,6-Pr(super i 3).
