Abstract
- Evidence against the rollup formation model suggesting that titania nanotubes are formed by oriental crystal growth is presented. A novel formation mechanism is suggested which oriented nanotube crystal growth from nanoloop seeds and could also explain the experimental findings better than the present ones.
