Abstract

A study was done on the effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids on postnatal uterine development. It was shown that dietary alpha linolenic acid exert a significant effect on the phospholipid fatty acid composition of rat uterus. It was further shown that feeding rats a purified diet deficient in alpha linolenic acid for three generations significantly affected early sexual development especially the ponderant weight of the growing uterus.
