Abstract
- Researchers designed a transient transfection vector by designing a chimeric gene in which the firefly luciferase gene was inserted in frame into the coding site of the pgs 28 gene of plasmodium gallinaceum, with the aim of formulating a technique to functionally study malaria genes using DNA transfection. They effectively introduced and expressed a foreign gene in a malaria parasite.
