Abstract

The cellular contents of L-type calcium channels and other functionally important membrane proteins in ventricular homogenates and microsomes were examined. This involved the utilization of quantitative immunoblot assays on the proteins which were formed from myopathic and normal hamsters. Results indicate that mechanical disruption can easily extract T-tubule/junctional sarcoplasmic reticulum membranes from myopathic cardiomyocytes.
