Abstract
- The article identifies three institutional forms adopted by foreign subsidiaries in post-crisis environments: majority joint-ventures, wholly-owned subsidiaries, or trading operations. It is therefore posited that foreign subsidiaries with these capabilities are better situated to survive crises than others; the 1997 financial crisis in Asia is used as an illustration.
