Abstract
- The influence of atomic hydrogen and oxygen on diamond growth was investigated using high-resolution energy loss spectroscopy. The results showed that in the case of a totally desorbed diamond surface, atomic hydrogen had a corrosive effect initially on carbon atoms on the surface then subsequently on the dangling bonds of sp3 hybridized atoms on the next layer of diamond surface.
