Abstract
- Comparison of the switching signals from the Fe(super III)-Ru(super II) cell [C][X] to that of the Ru(super III)-Ru(super II) cell with larger d1/d(sub m)[PF6](sub 3) shows that increasing the length of the conjugated linker between the metal sites can increase the dipolar switching field. A simple electrostatic model suggests that the smaller is the counterion, the greater is the perturbation of the metal sites and the larger is the barrier for switching.
