Facile synthesis of beta-organotellurobutenolides via electrophilic tellurolactonization of alpha-allenoic acids

Abstract: A convenient and highly efficient method is presented for the synthesis of beta-organotellurobutenolides by the aryltellurenyl halides-induced electrophilic tellurolactonization of alpha-allenoic acids under mild conditions. The obtained tellurobutenolides are practical precursors for useful substituted butenolides.
