Evolutionary dynamics of a spatially structured host-parasite association: Drosophila innubila and male-killing Wolbachia

Epidemiological and population genetic data is used to explore the broad-scale ecological and evolutionary interactions between the mushroom-feeding fly Drosophila innubila and a male-killing endosymbiont. The frequency and expression of Wolbachia infection and the distribution of genetic variation within and among populations of the host and parasite is surveyed.
