Abstract

The results of a national telephone survey conducted on Aug 17, 1992, indicate that many Americans would be suspicious of Pres George Bush's motives should he order military actions against Iraq. Only 37% of the respondents said that they would vote for Bush ifthe presidential elections were held on that day. Sixty-two percent of the respondents said that the US should take military actions to compel Saddam Hussein to comply with UN resolutions and overthrow him should he continue his defiance.
