Abstract

A new mathematical tool is demonstrated that allows prediction of lineshape and linewidth in self-heterodyne (SHE) or self-homodyne methods (SHO) for various kinds of low frequency FM noise in 1/f(super alpha), alpha belongs to]0; 2[. The experimental results reveal a very good agreement with theoretical predictions, with relative errors always lower than 10%.
