An urgent agenda

The public interest community has the responsibility to ensure that commitment to the standards set by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil are upheld. Environmental movements must ensure the ideals promoted by the summit and by the movements themselves are implemented for the benefit of all. They must see to it that the US government's commitmentto environmental health is carried out in every government activity. Most of all, sustainable development must not be denied to disadvantaged communities.
