Latest earnings mostly show weak performance

Exxon Corp reported little change in its 1st qtr 1993 earnings from 1st qtr 1992 and Ashland Oil Inc reported net income increase for its 2nd qtr 1993 instead of losses. Exxon had a net income of $1.185 billion in 1st qtr 1993, a decrease when compared with $1.295 billion for the 1st qtr 1992. Ashland had a net income of $835,000 in 2nd qtr 1993, compared with a net loss of $13.4 million for the 2nd qtr 1992.
