Abstract
- Three entelodont teeth found in the bed of the Conecuh River in Alabama in 1968 are identified as belonging to Dinohyus aff. D. Hollandi and described. The discovery's significance as the first record of an Oligocene or early Miocene mammal in Alabama is discussed. Since the teeth were not found in situ, they must have been eroded from any of the area formations of the Oligocene or Miocene. Implications for correlations between strata of the continental interior and the Gulf Coastal plain are mentioned.
