New features on ROVs and control systems add flexibility and cut costs

Amoco Corp is developing remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) as part of its ongoing research into the development of a diverless subsea production system (DSPS). The DSPS system envisioned by Amoco focuses on present day ROV systems enhancements that will allow greater versatility. Amoco's resident ROV system will give users real time monitoring and operation of remote sea floor installations in addition to providing users with a long term immersion vehicle.
