Abstract
- The rapid expansion of the university sector in the United Kingdom has slowed and the country is falling behind other industrialised nations, according to new figures released by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The figures reveal that in 2003 the UK had an university student enrolment rate of 48%, below the OECD average of 53% and far below the 83% of Iceland or 81% of New Zealand%.
