Abstract

The isotope (super 26)Al has a half-life of about 7.2*10(super 5) yr, and could be used to measure reliably aluminum diffusion in alumina. The author's claims that parabolic growth usually does not hold for the formation of Al2O3 in these alloys, especially for thickness below 1 mum.
