Abstract

The noise properties and magnetocardiographic performance of single-layer second-order YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) SQUID gradiometers made on StrontiumTitanate substrates are studied. The feasibility of the directly-coupled single-layer 2nd-order high T(sub c) SQUID gradiometer for biomagnetic studies is demonstrated.
