Abstract
- The responses of mRNA for insulin like growth factor-I (IGF-I) and insulin like growth factor-II (IGF-II) and the phosphorylation state of components of anabolic signaling pathways p70(super s6k) and eukaryotic initiation factor-4e binding protein-I was tested to a bout of high-intensity resistance exercise after 5 d of creatine supplementation. The increase in lean body mass often reported after creatine supplementation could be mediated by signaling pathways involving IGF and 4E-BP.
