Abstract
- Wasting during pregnancy, as measured by weight loss and low weight gain, is examined to find whether it is associated with increased mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV-1. The causes of wasting during pregnancy are identified to find clues for new strategies to prevent MTCT.
