The magic of mentoring

Research has found that mentoring programs can improve students' peer and family relationships, school attendance, performance, and attitude. However, effective mentoring programs require careful selection and preparation of mentors as well as ongoing support as community development is the backbone of the program and the local residents are willing to make a connection with young people.
