Abstract
- Probabilistic consistency, a novel scoring function for multiple sequence comparisons is introduced. ProbCons which is a practical tool for progressive protein multiple sequence alignment based on probabilistic consistency is presented and its performance on several standard alignment benchmark data sets is evaluated.
