Abstract
- Measurement theory is an important tool in research psychology. One of its concepts, the representational viewpoint of measurement suggests that numerical representation is guided by theoretial construction which may be viewed as scales of representation relations. The scales used in psychological rsearch may not be equivalent to those of physicists but they also have attributes of uniqueness and homogeneity. Measurement theory also deems meaningfulness of scientific statements, models and statistics important since this concept affects the predictability of psychological data.
