Abstract
- Two proposed access protocols for voice and data integration on ring networks perform better than some protocols already in use. One of the evaluated protocols was a hybrid scheme based on the slotted and register insertion ring protocols while the other was based on the standard token ring network. Both provide decentralized priority to voice stations, ensuring quick transmission access while keeping delay throughput performance at a minimum for all data stations.
