Abstract

Michelob Golden Draft beer from Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc. will be available in new packaging that protects the product from light. Market research found that many consumers liked clear bottles instead of brown bottles, but the brown bottles keep light from affecting the all-natural hops in the beer. The new Light-Tite packaging provides a light-controlled atmosphere, resealable flaps to protect unused bottles and a larger advertising space. Anheuser-Busch hopes to convey an upscale image with this new bottling and packaging.
