Information, agglomeration, and the headquarters of U.S. exporters

A study based on the headquarter activity of exporters in U.S. is presented to show that the location of a particular industry or type of employment is determined by the need to gather relevant information which is available only at a particular agglomeration. In the case of U.S. exporters, crucial factor was the foreign market information.
